Brooks Falls is a short walk from Brooks Lodge in the Katmai National Park. Favored by the local bear population (Alaska Brown bear, Ursus arctos horribilis) for the abundance of Salmon, this is an excellent location to see bears in a natural environment. There is an excellent viewing platform at Brooks Falls. It is really just like going to a zoo; except you have to remember that you are in the cage and the bears are free to roam about.
